Modular Thermal Technologies was started by a young entrepreneur, Tom Noel, in 2004 when he was involved in a sports accident and could not find ongoing, satisfactory relief from any cold packs available on the retail shelf. He tried home remedies – ice from the freezer, frozen peas, etc., and like the store-bought cold packs, those treatments offered a very short duration of relief and then melted! He decided at that point to find a solution and create a high quality cold therapy product.

Tom’s goals became clear as he identified what was missing from the current product selection. Providing a cold therapy solution that lasted longer than the standard 20-30 minutes, constructing a wrap with Velcro straps that would provide the option of mobility and prevent condensation (and frostbite exposure) from contact with skin, a product that would contain safe and non-toxic ingredients and offer the consumer value through reusability.

His passion resulted in the creation of the most advanced cold therapy system available at retail utilizing patented “Points of Cold” technology - CryoMAX 8 Hour Reusable Cold Packs. CryoMAX is manufactured in the US and are now available in over 30,000 retail stores nationwide.
